The F-16 program has grown into the largest multinational coproduction effort in history. Assembly lines have operated in Fort Worth, Belgium, The Netherlands, Turkey, and Korea. Thirteen countries have participated in coproduction of the F-16 and major components of the aircraft have been produced in several other countries. Almost 4,000 F-16s have been delivered to 19 air forces around the world. Fourteen of these countries have ordered additional F-16s.

The F-16's Fly-by-Wire system has electric flight controls that, combined with an angle of attack/g limiter, allow edge-of-the-envelope precision maneuvering without worry of overstress or departure from controlled flight.
